My mom is doing an amazing job caring for Grandma in this last leg of her journey. We are all touched by the blog posts she writes, and the loving care she gives Grandma each day. It's good to be able to keep up with what is going on with Grandma, and to laugh and to cry with Mom.
My Grandma has impacted so many people in so many ways. I wish she could know that before she dies. I wish she still had her mind. I wish we could sit and talk about her life, and she could share her wisdom. I know we all wish we could tell her how much she has meant to us, and how she made our worlds better places to live in. She was loving, caring, fun, and full of energy. She was independent, strong as sassy. A hard-working, practical woman, as well as a woman of faith.
Looking back on Grandma's life, it seems we had too short a time with her in her fullness. But I know we are all thankful for the time we did have. I thought it would be nice if we all took this time to honor the woman she was, and what she meant to us. Share a memory, a funny story, something you loved about Grandma – anything you want to say.
You can email your responses to me at staciemknapp@gmail.com, and I will post them to Mom's blog. Don't feel like you have to sit down and draft a whole blog post (although you're more than welcome to). Feel free to send any snippets or memories as they come to you. Send me as many emails as you'd like. I'll make sure we get them up on the blog. :-)
Love,
Stacie

i'm working on it.....i could write a book really.
The time I've spent with Grandma "O" has been very sparse because I am pretty new to the family and I live far away. The one thing that I can say about Martha is that she is truly a pure hearted woman. She didn't have a bad word to say about anyone. In the few visits I've had with her, she always made and my children me feel at home and accepted.

Jen, thank you for your comment about Mom. She was so happy that Johnny found you and loved you for making her first grandchild so happy. She loved kids and 2 more great-grandchildren to love made her happy, too. I love you and am happy to have you as my "daughter".
