Today's guest post in our "Honoring Martha" series comes from Amy Adams Matthews. Amy knew Grandma from all those years at Fellowship Baptist Church. I also remember Amy and her brother Josh spending time at Grandma's, just hanging out. One afternoon my sisters and I, along with Josh and Amy were spending the afternoon with Grandma, and she told them they could call her Grandma. She was so full of love for all children, and a Grandmother figure to many!

We are planning on having them all made into a booklet, so the sooner we get them, the better! We think this is an awesome way to honor an amazing woman who has touched so many lives! ~Love, Stacie
Wow there is so much to say about Martha! She is like a grandma to me. We've shared so much together, but most importantly our hearts. She loved me just like I was one of her very own and I loved her like the grandma I never got to meet. Silly things like glasses that clanked when we hugged and from then on that's the only way we could hug. The playdough that we put way too much salt in, but she made it work and we baked it like clay instead. One of my hubby's favorite stories about her was when she drove him to church before we were together and she hit a bird and instead of being sad or upset she just said "well squirrels have to eat too". What a great outlook she had! It was so important to me that she loved the man I married even though not everyone did at the time~well she was right he was a good boy and after almost 12 years of marriage I'm proud to say he a great Godly man. Her holding my little girl when we came home for a visit just made me feel so blessed to have her as long as we did. I miss her knowing me so much it hurts, but I love that she tried so hard. Her memory may not be what it was, but I know her heart will NEVER change! Thank you Martha. I know one day we'll talk again like we used to and I can't wait for "our" hug again, but there will be no glasses where we'll be so we'll have to fake it!
Thank you Stacie for sharing this with me! You have know idea how much that means to me.
And thank you Amy, for loving Grandma so much, and taking the time to tell everyone what she meant to you!

wasn't she a trip Aim?! Im glad you were able to have her in our life. She was such a great Grandma to any child she came in contact with. She also loved Chad when he was a kid, and hard for other adults to love. She always thanked him for taking such good care of me. I miss her too, but at least we have our memories!
How awesome Amy, I really miss the old days. Love ya
